Kléo's DJ sets are a dynamic blend of organic and electronic sounds; an infinitude of drum machines, heavy and groovy basslines that border on acidic and abundant melodic keys.

DJ and visual artist Kléo paints musical landscapes from a broad palette of warm grooves and infectious rhythms. Both sensitive and fierce, she is an intuitive force behind the decks. She selects from a vast record collection, bringing the dance floor together with seamless all-vinyl mixes.

Kléo’s DJ sets are a dynamic blend of organic and electronic sounds; an infinitude of drum machines, heavy and groovy basslines that border on acidic and abundant melodic keys. Her deep love for Boogie, early Chicago house and that banging mid-80s, early 90s analog electronic vibe are the foundation of her musical output, which is delivered with impeccable skill.

Originally hailing from Paris, Kléo, also known as Clélia Zida, has called Amsterdam her home for two decades. She studied audiovisual at Rietveld Academy, developing a colourful style of patterned painting that flows beyond her paintbrush and into her music with an unwaveringly analog approach.

Kléo has a monthly show on Red Light Radio, which showcases her sensitivity and has a loyal following in various corners of the globe. Kléo also curates the “good music is good music” programme at Café Belgique, a small beer temple in Amsterdam's city centre that transforms into a listening bar at night. Choosing an organic approach, she has created a homely space for DJs to play as they feel there. Feeling over thinking defining her ethos.

Over the last years, Kléo’s sensory approach to bold and bright selections has started making waves. She has played a myriad of shows on hometurf, and last year began venturing to other parts of the world regularly with her record bag. The Dekmantel festivals, Highlife in Buenos Aires, Ouro Bravo in Lisbon and Djoon in Paris being just a few highlights from 2019. We can look forward to getting lost in her landscapes at many beautiful parties to come.
